Voiceover FAQ's
How much does a voiceover session cost in Sacramento?
Our standard voiceover session starts at $450 for a 2-hour minimum. Additional time is billed at $150 per hour. Remote direction via Source-Connect Pro v4 is available for an additional $60, and Zoom direction is available for $25. Rush same-day delivery is available for an additional $100.
Can my director or producer attend the session remotely?
Yes. We offer Source-Connect for broadcast-grade real-time direction, the industry standard used by agencies and post production houses. We also support Zoom for teams that prefer a simpler setup. Your director can listen, give notes, and guide the performance in real time from anywhere in the world. Source-Connect adds $60 and Zoom adds $25 to your session rate.
What microphones and equipment do you use?
Our primary voiceover microphone is the Neumann U87ai, one of the most respected condenser microphones in professional recording. We also have the Shure SM7B, Slate ML-1, and Rode NT2000 available depending on the project. All sessions run through UAD Apollo interfaces with optional real-time UAD processing. Additional vocal processing is available on request.
What file formats do you deliver?
We deliver in any format you need including WAV, AIFF, and MP3. We can match your exact sample rate and bit depth requirements. For e-learning and LMS projects we can split and label files per line or per module. All files are delivered via Google Drive link, typically within 3 days unless rush turnaround is selected.
Do I need to send my script in advance?
Yes. Scripts must be submitted at least 24 hours before your session as a PDF or Word document. Please include pronunciation guides and any directional notes inline. This allows our engineer to prep the session and helps your talent deliver a cleaner first take, saving you time in the booth.
What types of voiceover projects do you record?
We record commercials for TV, radio, and digital platforms, corporate training and e-learning narration, audiobooks, film and TV ADR, IVR and phone system prompts, animation and character voiceover, podcast intros and branding, and political and government content. We work with both union and non-union talent and are experienced meeting broadcast and agency delivery requirements.
How long does a voiceover session take?
Most commercial and short-form scripts are completed well within the 2-hour minimum. E-learning and long-form narration projects typically run 3 to 4 hours depending on word count and take requirements. A general rule of thumb for these are 100 finished words of narration per 20 minutes of session time, accounting for takes, direction, and pick-ups.
